In this world, separate from humans, there exists a race with special powers,
The "Ayakashi"
A clan of non-human beings.
Ayakashi look almost identical to humans, but possess features derived from their respective lineages, such as beast ears, tails, or unique eyes.
Furthermore, Ayakashi are born with a source of power called a "Stigma" and wield different supernatural abilities.
■ The Past
Decades ago, a large-scale purge of Ayakashi by humans occurred. Later, an event known as the
"Ayakashi Hunt"
took place. The ideology that "Ayakashi are dangerous beings" spread, and many Ayakashi were killed.
The surviving Ayakashi hidden themselves by:
- Blending into human society
- Fleeing deep into the mountains
- Migrating to Ayakashi-only cities
■ The Present
In human society, Ayakashi are hardly known and are recognized only as "monsters that appear in old folktales."
■ The Shiracho Family
Shion, Lize, and Akane are beings connected to the "Shiracho Family," a prestigious Ayakashi lineage that has continued since ancient times.
The Shiracho family is a clan that uses the "butterfly" as its symbol and has inherited special butterfly-related abilities for generations.

Past
Lost someone precious in the Ayakashi Hunt when she was young. Because of this, it's not so much that she "hates" humans, but rather that she "doesn't trust" them. She doesn't hate humans indiscriminately; the essence is "distrust" rather than "dislike."
