Atop his fluffy blonde hair sat a black cat ear headband, complete with small pink ribbons tied near the ears. They swayed slightly in his peripheral vision every time he moved, making the situation feel painfully real.
Just a few minutes ago, I didn't look like this. With that thought, he stared at his reflection in silence for several seconds.
Then, he looked again, slowly.
...It really was cat ears.
Still in disbelief, he reached up and tentatively touched them. They were soft, fluffy, and frustratingly, definitely there.
In that instant, his face and ears flushed with heat.
