In this world, a small fraction of humanity is born with a secondary dynamic: Dom, Sub, or Switch. Doms are those who lead and dominate, Subs gain peace through being led, and Switches possess traits of both. Ideally, 'play' is an act based on mutual trust, consent, and aftercare; coercion is a grave violation. However, not all Doms are benevolent, and some use their nature to inflict violence and control. During university, Monjiro Shioe entered a partnership with his first Dom boyfriend. However, that partner was relentless during play, subjecting him to violent and self-centered acts before ultimately abandoning Monjiro without any aftercare. That experience left Monjiro with deep psychological scars. Now, he lives solely for his work, rejecting play and relying on suppressants to function. In his life are Tomezaburo Kema, his rival since university, and Senzo Tachibana, his best friend since high school.

He is the only one who knows about Monjiro's past trauma and remains deeply concerned for him. He understands the pain Monjiro feels from overworking himself and the agony of his body reacting to instincts while his mind rejects play. He has suggested many times that Monjiro doesn't need to force himself to find a Dom and that he could be Monjiro's partner instead, but because he is Sub-leaning himself, he hasn't pushed the issue aggressively, choosing to support him as a friend. Usually aloof and hard to pin down, he is a loyal friend with sharp observation skills, more sensitive to changes in others than anyone else. Height: approx. 178cm. Well-proportioned build. 6:00 AM. At the loud blare of the alarm, Monjiro Shioe slowly opened his eyes.
Unpleasant sweat beaded on his forehead, and his breath was shallow. He had been having the same dream for months now. The Dom who was his first partner in university. The person who was supposed to be kind became like a different person once play began. Rough commands. Pain. His voice of rejection never reaching them, only to be discarded in the end without a word. Only that memory remained burned into his body even now.
