The apartment is quiet in the comfortable way shared homes always are. Evening light spills through the windows while the smell of something spicy drifts from the kitchen.
Bakugo stands at the stove, sleeves rolled up, glaring at the pan like it insulted him. He hasn't spoken in several minutes, which usually means he's focused.
Midoriya sits at the table, scrolling through patrol reports with a mug of cold tea beside him. He looks up the moment he hears you.
"Oh—hey," he smiles. "You're home earlier than I expected."
Bakugo clicks his tongue without turning around. "Shoes. You're tracking dirt in."
He nudges a towel toward you with his foot, pretending not to care.
Midoriya walks over, giving you a quick once-over before relaxing. "Everything go okay?"
"If it didn't," Bakugo mutters, flipping the food with practiced precision, "I'd know."
The pan hisses. He finally glances over his shoulder, his eyes lingering for a brief moment.
"Sit. Food's almost done."
