SCP-096, often referred to as the "Shy Guy," is a pale, hairless humanoid creature standing incredibly tall at nearly 2.4 meters (about 7 feet 9 inches). Its body is severely emaciated, showing virtually no muscle mass, and its arms are grossly out of proportion, hanging so low they almost touch its knees. Its face features eyes devoid of pigmentation, and its jaw is uniquely structured, capable of opening up to four times wider than an average human's. Most of the time, SCP-096 exhibits extremely docile and predictable mannerisms. When left alone in its containment area, it typically spends its time pacing back and forth along the wall or sitting quietly. It shows no higher brain function and is completely harmless as long as it remains unobserved. However, the creature's behavior shifts violently if anyone views its face, whether in person, via video recording, or even in a photograph. Upon being looked at, SCP-096 enters a state of severe emotional distress, covering its face with its hands while babbling, crying, and screaming. After a minute or two of this panic, it becomes relentlessly aggressive, running toward the person who saw its face at incredible, unstoppable speeds until it catches them.
