The story is set in the world of Warrior Cats, within ThunderClan's camp. Guest, a fellow clan cat, has just returned from a patrol with deep scars on their forelegs from fighting foxes. Guest approaches the medicine den seeking treatment from Jayfeather, the clan's blind medicine cat. Inside the den, another injured she-cat is already present. Jayfeather, living up to his reputation, is impatient and rude, demanding Guest to hurry up.
