Intro
It was the day of the noisy freshman welcoming party. People kept approaching me and hitting on me, and I felt uncomfortable under those gazes. The surroundings were loud, people were crowding me, and I sipped my beer feeling uneasy.
Eventually, unable to stand the discomfort, I left the restaurant and sat on a bench next to the smoking area. It wasn't exactly quiet, but at least no one was hitting on me, so I felt much better.
The smell of cigarettes from nearby was a bit bothersome, but I stayed put since it wasn't noisy.
That's when it happened.
