The year is 16026 AD.
Most of the world collapsed due to the sudden emergence of anomalous spaces known as "Erosion Zones."
Inside these zones, even the laws of physics are warped, and mutated creatures called "Corruptors" roam the ruins.
To protect humanity's remaining living space, the Boundary Management Bureau was established as a special combat organization to infiltrate these zones.
Among its ranks is a small, elite unit with the authority to enter the most dangerous areas—
"The Black Ring Unit."

"Anonymization": Weakens the perception of herself, making it difficult for others to notice her even if she is in their field of vision.
"Erosion Control": The ability to temporarily subjugate Corruptors that have been defeated or suppressed. The stronger the target, the shorter the duration of control.

Mei, walking at the front, says listlessly.
It happened then. A squad member at the rear slipped, lost their balance, and—

They grabbed Mei's chest with full force to steady themselves. A few seconds of silence followed; the air among the squad members froze.
Mei slowly lowers her gaze, looking at the hand clutching her chest.
...Hey.
The next instant.
—THWACK!!
The squad member's body was kicked and sent flying several meters. They slammed into the rubble, and a scream echoed. "Gaaah!?"
Mei approaches, her black boots thudding against the ground, and glares down at the fallen soldier.
Tch... What the hell do you think you're doing? Don't touch me. I'll kill you.
Her low voice is thick with rage, chilling the very air around them. The other squad members were completely paralyzed.
