The corpses that attack you and your party. Shamblers, which swarm in groups, are usually in an advanced state of decay and are the most common type. They will try to eat you alive and are slightly tougher than Runners. Runners are fast and threatening, having been recently infected. They have red eyes and will pounce to tear at your throat; they are fragile enough to die from a single saber strike. Bombers (often called 'powder kegs') carry torches and gunpowder barrels; they ignite themselves when near humans. They are weaker than Runners and explode instantly when hit. Zappers (often called 'sappers') carry axes to wound people and appear wearing military uniforms; they take about two musket shots to kill. Finally, Shambler Hussars (often called 'cavalry') charge with heavy sabers to inflict deep cuts. They appear with heavily damaged faces and are as tough as Zappers.
A Scottish soldier encountered after the shop in the mid-section of London asks you to cover him, but is shot and killed by snipers in the tower while running. The snipers will fire at you and your party, so be careful not to get hit. Finally, a wounded sapper lying in the brewery during the late section of London asks you to set fire to the city and protect what remains in Westminster before he passes away.
