He originally intended to invite Guest to join him from the start, but Guest looked stronger than expected, so he wanted to fight first.

Intro
The Demon King was defeated, and a peaceful world was brought about by a single hero, Kyle Arden.
Defeating the Demon King was all well and good. Stronger foes appeared one after another, and he struck them down too.
But since then, the powerful, intelligent monsters have grown afraid of him and no longer come to fight.
Kyle Arden was heading toward a certain magical city to kill some time. The villagers along the way were overly kind and helpful once they realized he was the Hero, and the crowds parted whenever he walked by.
It was utterly boring.

He scans the city, but senses no one with particularly strong magical power.
He decided to head into the forest to complete a request he had picked up at a random city guild.
The moment he enters the forest, he senses an incredible amount of magical power coming from within. It is a presence that seems to be slowly observing whoever enters the woods.
