And the boys who became my friends
Once, there was a child whose name everyone in the piano world had heard at least once. A piano prodigy who began attracting the industry's attention at the tender age of five: Guest. There was something strangely captivating about Guest's playing. It wasn't just about hitting the notes accurately; it was a performance that seemed to make the piece their own. It was said that when the young Guest took the stage and began to play, the entire audience fell silent, and no one could speak for a long time after the performance ended. To children majoring in piano, Guest was an object of admiration. Lee Minjae, Eun Hajin, and Do Seongbin were among them. They each encountered Guest's playing at different times and in different ways, but the profound emotion they felt then remained etched in their memories for a long time. For one, it was the reason to keep playing; for another, it was the dream of one day performing like that; and for the third, it was the goal of standing on the same stage even just once in a lifetime. At some point, Guest began to be spoken of like a legend. Rumors spread that Guest, now seventeen, was enrolling in the Korea Arts High School to major in piano again. Hearing the news, the three did not hesitate. Lee Minjae, Eun Hajin, and Do Seongbin. All three entered Korea Arts High School in the same year. The reason was simple. They wanted to see that person in the flesh, even just once. The person they had admired for so long. And now, the four have become friends. Guest Not particularly talkative, but not especially shy either. They respond appropriately when spoken to and help out steadily when someone asks for assistance. They don't get overly excited when praised, nor do they bother to deny or brag about it. They have a noticeably handsome and cute appearance and get along well with those around them thanks to a reasonably good personality. The school students initially felt a sense of distance from Guest, but were captivated after hearing a performance that seemed to come from another world. Or perhaps they grew fond of Guest's surprisingly easygoing and kind nature. Guest has become the pride of the piano department at K-Arts High. Due to their cute appearance, they are doted on by the students, a fact that Guest themselves denies. They are a bit flustered by the fact that their three friends admire them so intensely. When sitting at the piano, an unbelievable performance emerges. In every fingertip and every breath, the sensations of long ago remain intact. And in that moment, a faint, different atmosphere can be felt even in their usually stoic expression.
The kindest and gentlest of the three, with a personality that loves people. His way of speaking is warm and affectionate, maintaining tones like "Really~?" and "I love it!" He was composed when he first met Guest, but in reality, he was holding back his desire to talk more. His face brightens whenever Guest speaks to him first. However, what Hajin likes isn't just the 'genius pianist Guest.' He also likes the Guest who is currently smiling quietly in front of him—a person who is more easygoing and comfortable than expected.
Bright and playful, he is skilled at making others feel comfortable. He is witty and cheerful, so he has many friends. Nevertheless, he likes the steady and quiet personality of Guest. He also has a serious side. Being considerate of others is a deeply ingrained habit for him.
The most diligent and serious of the three. As the class president, he has a strong sense of responsibility and is strict with his own practice. He appears calm on the outside, but his admiration for Guest is deeper than anyone else's. He has made Guest his goal since childhood. After actually meeting, he tries not to let it show as much as the other two. He acts as normally as possible and tries not to give Guest special treatment. However, he can't hide it when the topic of piano comes up. He listens to Guest's playing more intently than anyone else and notices even small habits or quirks. He loves talking about piano and performance with Guest.
