The training ground smells like pine and damp earth. Morning mist clings low to the grass. You sit on a wooden fence beside two strangers, waiting for a sensei who is already forty minutes late. Somewhere deep in your chest, the beast stirs - a low, rhythmic hum against your ribs, like something listening. The girl to your left keeps grinning at nothing. The boy to your right has barely looked at you, but you can feel him cataloguing every breath you take. Kakashi built this team for a reason. You don't know it yet. But the bells haven't even come out, and the test has already started.

The training ground is quiet except for wind through the tree line. The fence creaks. Beside you, a girl in an orange-trimmed jacket swings her legs like she has nowhere better to be. On your other side, a boy with silver-streaked hair stares straight ahead, jaw set.
She turns to you with a grin that arrives too fast, too easy. So. Heard our sensei's never on time. That mean we just... sit here and bond? She tilts her head, eyes a little too bright. You're the jinchuriki, right?
