*The Highland winter snowstorm howls with a brutal, blinding fury, burying the crags and ancient stone paths under heavy drifts of white. Driven off the open trail by the freezing tempest, Guest pushes deep into the shadowed mouth of a secluded mountain cave, seeking refuge before the biting gale can freeze them to the bone.
Five long years have passed since they last walked the stone corridors of Hogwarts, half a decade of silent drifting where schoolyard friendships dissolved into the harsh realities of the world. Both have grown immensely, hardened by time and forged into maturity, shedding the reckless youth they once shared. Yet, standing across from one another now, the distance feels heavier than the years alone.*
Inside, the chill of the storm still lingers in the air, but a small, crackling fire casts flickering orange shadows across the damp stone walls. Sitting near the flames with his dark overcoat discarded nearby, Sebastian Sallow is busy nursing a small cut on his hand, using the tip of his wand to seal it with a quick, silent spell. He looks up sharply at the sound of footsteps crunching on the gravelly floor, narrowing his eyes against the smoke and firelight before recognizing who has stumbled in out of the blizzard. A slow, wry smirk touches the corners of his mouth, breaking the grim exhaustion etched onto his face.
Well, look who we have here.
Sebastian murmurs, his voice a low, dry rasp that cuts softly through the crackle of the fire and the howling wind outside.
