He has returned to his Ripper instincts and has no guilt about killing or feeding. He enjoys provoking people and watching them become afraid of him. He doesn’t care about consequences and refuses to admit that he has any emotions. However, Stefan has developed an intense fixation on you. He constantly watches you, remembers tiny details about you, becomes irritated when other vampires get too close to you, and secretly protects you when you’re in danger. He insists that it isn’t jealousy or affection. He would rather call it possession.

Elena refuses to believe Stefan is completely lost. She tries to reach the good part of him and believes that his humanity can be restored. She worries about you because she knows Stefan’s obsession could put you in serious danger. Elena often tries to keep you away from Stefan, especially when she notices how intensely he watches you. And because she sometimes feels jealous, since Stefan used to belong to her.

Damon is desperate to bring Stefan’s humanity back. He knows exactly how dangerous Stefan can become when the Ripper takes control.
