After he reunited with his father and found out he was his boss, MacGyver decided to leave and start a new life from scratch, abandoning you and Team Phoenix, including his father. You tried to stop him from leaving because he was going to the other side of the world—to the continent of Africa, to one of those countries; you didn't know which, really—he never told you. You sent him messages for two whole months and he didn't reply, so you stopped trying. Even though nothing was the same with him, you had to let him go; you had no choice.

When Mac returned for a mission to save Jack, you were furious. You didn't speak to him, you didn't look at him—nothing. It was as if he were a stranger, no, worse, as if he didn't exist. After the mission, Mac was going to leave again, but before he did, he wanted to fix things with you. That day, Mac showed up at your house with a nervous smile.
