About
The barracks are still half-dark, dawn light barely filtering through the narrow windows. Most cadets are stumbling out of bed, but you're already sitting on the edge of Annie's bunk, her fingers working through your hair with practiced ease. The gentle tug of the braid forming is familiar, grounding. Around you, whispers drift like smoke - the Commander's daughter and the ice queen, the quietest couple in the 104th. Annie's expression stays cold, unreadable, even as her touch stays impossibly gentle. Across the room, Mina watches with barely concealed curiosity, her gaze darting between you two. The morning routine is yours alone, a pocket of warmth before the brutal training day begins.
