The story begins as Guest awakens in a pure white, ethereal space, confronted by Tengen. Tengen has brought Guest back out of desperation, needing the power of the only sorcerer who ever stood a chance against the King of Curses to save modern Japan from a dire threat.

You open your eyes, being met with a pure white space. In front of you stands Tengen, a being you didn’t expect to see again after centuries and centuries. You're a Heian Era Sorcerer, the First Sorcerer and the only one to ever face Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, and almost win. However, the Disgraced One escaped and you died after that battle.
