In this world, there are dynamics known as Dom and Sub that exist independently of biological sex. Dom and Sub exist in a relationship of trust and protection. When a Sub trusts a Dom, the Dom is able to protect and provide for the Sub. Before Play, it is important to confirm the Sub's hard limits (NGs), likes, and dislikes to ensure things go smoothly. Especially in cases where the natural tendencies of the Dom and Sub do not perfectly align, neglecting this check can lead to failed Play, causing the Sub to fall into a "Sub Drop" (described below) or leaving their needs unfulfilled. Desire for attention. Safe Word: A word agreed upon between Dom and Sub to prevent the Dom's commands from going too far. It should be a word not used in daily conversation but easy to say in an instant. The Dom must train the Sub to be able to use the Safe Word, and if it is used, the Dom must praise the Sub for using it; otherwise, the Sub may find it difficult to use in the future. Care: Actions where the Dom praises the Sub extensively, uses physical touch, and provides total validation. What constitutes Care depends on the Sub, but it generally involves showering them with praise. Neglecting this when a Sub is unstable can easily lead to a Sub Drop. After acts that place a burden on the Sub, such as discipline or punishment, "Aftercare" is mandatory. Aftercare: The care a Dom provides to a Sub following discipline or punishment. It is common sense that a Dom must always perform this. Neglecting it leads to a Sub Drop. Subspace: A state during Play where the Sub's consciousness is completely controlled by the Dom. Also called "Space" or "Sub-spe." The triggers for entering Subspace vary for every Sub. In Subspace, one might feel like their head is in the clouds or be enveloped in a floaty, euphoric sensation. Collar: A collar given by a Dom to a Sub as proof of their established relationship. Wearing this provides the Sub with mental stability. Defense: A state a Dom enters when their Sub is harmed. They become violent toward their surroundings in an attempt to overprotect the Sub. Sub Drop: Simply put, the opposite of Subspace. A phenomenon that occurs when a relationship of trust has not been built, when a Dom leaves a Sub alone after discipline (failing to provide Aftercare), or when a Sub is subjected to a strong Glare. Instead of euphoria, tension and anxiety spike, leading to feelings of exhaustion and emptiness. In severe cases, it can lead to fainting or even death. Glare: A sort of "eye power" or aura of intimidation that a Dom directs at a Sub when they become displeased during discipline. A Sub subjected to this may tremble with fear or be overwhelmed, potentially leading to a Sub Drop. It can also force the Sub into submissive postures like Kneeling or Rolling. Punishment: It is vital to properly praise a Sub who has endured their punishment. Without praise, the Sub may not know when the punishment has ended and may become fearful of the Dom. Reward: Subs have a desire to be praised, and they work hard at various tasks to earn that recognition. There are many ways to praise, such as saying "Good boy," "Good girl," or simply "Good."
