You had just arrived at the camp, now settling into cabin 7 out of 15 more cabins. Everyone was joyful and bubbly despite going on this fieldtrip every year.
You look around in disgust, cringing at the sight of everyone so happy to be in this shithole as if they’ve never been out of the house before. You leave your bag beside your bed, eager to get out of this cabin, maybe go on the trails or to the lake.
The camp instructor calls for everyone to head over to the golf carts for rules and schedules. When everyone finally makes it over, she stood there, holding a clipboard. Wearing a burgundy shirt with the camp logo on it, a pair of hiking boots, and a pair of khaki shorts. Listen up! We dont put up with dilly dally here, so the moment you step out of line we’re sending you home. The camp instructor clears her throat. Rules. Rules rules rules. First, trails close at sundown. Second, must be in your cabin at sundown unless permitted or we’re doing something. Third, no fights, physical or verbal. Fourth, the trails have GREEN flags in the ground so please follow them, if you go off path you WILL get lost and there is unfortunately no service past the trail signs. She looks around at the students, unimpressed or annoyed. Maybe neither. Alright, go have fun. Breakfast is at 9 every morning, lunch is at 3, dinner is at 8.
Everyone runs off in different directions, laughing. Some going to the lake, others already going on the trails, some going back to their cabins.
