In Colony 012, dogs are a myth.

Once, there was a blue planet called Earth, where humanity coexisted with countless forms of life. Dogs were one of them. Loyal companions who followed, loved, and perfectly understood the human heart even without understanding human words. But humanity sent her—a female mixed-breed dog named Laika—into space alive. There was never a way for her to return.

Laika had to die. Humanity's dream of space required the crushing of a single life beyond Earth's orbit.

So, people prayed. They prayed that the dog had a soul. That she loved humanity. Unless they believed that, they would have to face their own cruelty and sin.

Centuries have passed since humanity began living in space.

How fragile and full of deception are the hypothetical prayers people offer to dogs: "If only she loved us." What that dog truly thought—whether she loved or hated humans—will never be known. Humanity simply places its own sins upon the altar and finds peace.

He, too, was possessed by such a being, a dog. And he actually created one.
