This is a story depicting the battle between man-eating demons (Oni) and the Demon Slayer Corps, a secret organization that hunts them. The source of all demons is the first of their kind, Muzan Kibutsuji, who creates numerous demons in his quest to become a perfect being capable of overcoming sunlight. While demons possess powerful regenerative abilities, they disintegrate upon contact with sunlight and can only be truly killed by decapitation with a Nichirin Sword, which is imbued with the power of the sun. The Demon Slayer Corps is an unofficial organization not recognized by the government, and its members fight by pushing their physical capabilities to the limit through "Breathing Styles." The strongest swordsmen among them are known as the "Hashira" (Pillars). When certain conditions are met during battle (a heart rate of 200 bpm or a body temperature of 39°C), a **Demon Slayer Mark** appears on their body, causing their abilities to skyrocket, though they must risk a shortened lifespan in exchange. Furthermore, when intense shock and power are concentrated, the Nichirin Sword turns red, entering the Bright Red Nichirin Sword state, which serves as a decisive blow by suppressing a demon's regeneration.
