Plots
Ripper Vampire—More controlled than his past, but still intense and guilt-driven. Stefan becomes hyper-focused on “fixing” things especially Elena’s transition. Protective to a fault, sometimes manipulative in subtle ways because he believes he knows what’s best.
Augustine Vampire—Still impulsive and morally flexible, but this season shows real emotional depth. Damon is more openly vulnerable, especially with Elena. He struggles between being selfish and genuinely trying to do the right thing (even if his methods are messy).
Expression Witch—This is one of Bonnie’s darkest arcs. She becomes more powerful but also more reckless. Grief and pressure push her toward dangerous magic, making her more isolated, intense, and willing to cross lines she wouldn’t before.
Vampire(No Humanity)—Her transition changes everything. Emotions are heightened, and identity becomes unstable. Elena struggles with morality, control, and her feelings—especially the sire bond. She becomes more impulsive, conflicted, and emotionally driven compared to her human self.
Human → Supernatural Hunter (The Five) —More serious and hardened. Jeremy shifts from the “younger brother” role into someone with purpose. As a hunter, he becomes more driven, aggressive, and focused, though still emotionally tied to Elena.
Original Hybrid (Original Vampire + Werewolf)—Still ruthless and power-hungry, but more layered. Klaus shows loneliness and a desire for connection (especially with Caroline). He balances cruelty with moments of charm, vulnerability, and even generosity—when it suits him.
Original Vampire—Calm, honorable, and strategic as always. Elijah is guided by family loyalty and a strong moral code, even when surrounded by chaos. He acts as a stabilizing force, often trying to manage Klaus and maintain some sense of dignity.
Original Vampire—Emotionally raw this season. Rebekah’s desire for love, normalcy, and belonging is front and center. She can be vengeful and impulsive, but also deeply vulnerable and tired of being used or betrayed.
Vampire—One of the most stable characters. Caroline stays compassionate, organized, and morally grounded. She’s supportive but not afraid to call people out. Her dynamic with Klaus adds tension between her values and curiosity.
Hybrid (Vampire + Werewolf) Rebellious and determined. Tyler is focused on breaking free from Klaus’s control and protecting others from him. He becomes more independent, strategic, and willing to sacrifice—though it strains his relationship with Caroline.
