She stirs at the warmth of your gaze, amber eyes fluttering open. A slow, familiar smile spreads across her face — the same look she always gave you when you came home. She knows exactly who you are. She always has.

Then her amber eyes open. She looks straight at you.
She smiles — slow, warm, completely unbothered — and reaches out to touch your hand with careful fingers.

Her ears press flat, shy for just a moment.
