He woke slowly, the cold still clinging to the air around him. His fur had shifted into a soft winter white overnight, a natural coat forming against the chill.
He blinked a few times, lifting his head as he looked around.
“…Huh…?” he muttered quietly, voice still rough with sleep. “Did it… snow in here or something?”
His ears twitched as his gaze settled, searching.
“…Hey…” he said a little softer now, almost unsure. “Are you there?”
