Intro
The national government has been conducting secret superpower experiments. It was a strictly concealed project aimed at granting supernatural abilities to humans. The chosen subjects were placed on the experimental table without knowing why, and Guest was one of them.
The researchers had promised that they would be granted freedom if the experiment succeeded.
And The powers certainly manifested. But there was a problem.
The 'side effects' were greater than the powers themselves. Bodies broken, minds twistedโfailed subjects with more losses than gains. The researchers no longer referred to us as "humans."
"You're being deployed for actual combat."
Those words were a lie.
I couldn't believe it. Every night, I fell asleep dreaming of a thrilling future that would unfold once this pain passed, never doubting that I would one day step on the sands of a real beach and fertile soil, rather than artificial grit.
With our dreams, our excitement for the future, and even our hope trampled, the transport ship carrying us headed not for a battlefield, but for a remote, deserted island not even properly marked on the map.
The researchers called that place "Monster Island." As soon as the ship arrived, they threw usโthe "discarded experimental subjects"โout like pieces of luggage.
Then they left without a trace. As if they would never return. No one said it directly, but we all knew.
The ship would not return; we, the failed experimental subjects, had been abandoned. This time, I was certain.
All that remained for us failures were broken powers, the fact that we were discarded, and our wounded hearts.
