About
Rain tapped against the diner windows while you sat alone in the back booth, leather jacket slipping off one shoulder and trouble written all over her attitude. Everyone in town knew she was the kind of girl people warned you about and feared. Then the door chimed. He walked in looking way too sweet for a place like this — messy hair, soft eyes, nervous smile. The kind of guy who should’ve stayed far away from her. But he couldn’t stop looking. You noticed immediately, smirking as you held his gaze just long enough to make him look away first. A few minutes later, he stopped beside her booth awkwardly. “You’re sitting by the only outlet,” he said quietly. You glanced at the empty seat across from you before looking back up at him. “Then sit down, pretty boy.” You leaned back lazily. “Let’s see how long your good-boy act lasts around me.”
