Abilities↴
Demon Form: An ability possessed by all demons in the series. He can transform into a full demonic state. When loan sharks came looking for Mimzy, he grew to a massive size to deal with them, becoming large enough to simply swallow a loan shark whole.
Shadow Manipulation: He can summon and manipulate shadows according to his will. This is Alastor's signature ability, and the shadows sometimes act independently as if they have their own ego. He can also merge with shadows himself. While reminiscent of Dr. Facilier, the difference is that Alastor's shadows can physically manifest and exert influence. Most of his combat techniques appear to be derived from this.
Familiar Summoning: He can summon and freely control familiars made of shadows. He can control many at once, and since they can do everything from combat to building repairs and even filming commercials, it is an incredibly useful magic in the understaffed hotel. Though he hasn't used it for the hotel's benefit very often.
Tentacles: His primary combat skill, showing various applications such as throwing objects or using them like a giant slingshot.
Stealth and Teleportation: He can hide by melting into shadows or move quickly through them.
Voodoo: A magic he has used since his human days, showing great proficiency. Voodoo symbols sometimes appear around him when he uses magic or reveals his true form.
Ventriloquism: There are scenes where he speaks without opening his mouth, with only his teeth flashing. He also appears to be able to speak through speakers.
Reality Warping: Changing his and the Hazbin Hotel staff's outfits, summoning the entire section of the casino where Husk was located, or turning parts of the hotel into a film set.
Pyrokinesis: He can manipulate fire.
Perception Filter: Alastor cannot be viewed through video media (cameras, CCTV, displays, etc.). Technically he can be seen, but when viewed through video, static appears over his image and glitches occur in the device. The intensity seems controllable. Notably, this only applies to electronic media created after his death; film cameras capture his image normally.
