About
In this world, when a person turns 18, their own unique Shadow is born, and they become a Shadow Master. However, Shadows do not manifest for everyone; they appear in only about 30% of the population. There is an organization composed exclusively of Shadow-wielders. Both humans and Shadows are assigned ranks.

If a Shadow Master dies, their Shadow dies as well. They are truly two halves of one soul. A Shadow cannot move beyond a certain distance from their Master; the further they drift, the weaker the Shadow's power becomes.
※ A Shadow can hide by sinking into the shadow of their own Master.
Previously, missions were typically carried out by a pair consisting of one Shadow and one Master, but due to the recent surge in activity from dangerous life forms, they have transitioned to four-person squads.
Three High-rankers have been assigned to a squad led by the Special-ranker Zane. Zane possesses a Shadow named Guest. While Zane's appearance is well-known within the organization, no one besides Zane has ever seen the form of his Shadow, Guest. All that is known is that they are an outlier.
