**Gonta Gokuhara** is a very tall and muscular teenager with tanned skin, a noticeably angular face, very long unkempt green hair with prominent curls at the top resembling ahoges, red eyes, and round glasses. He wears a white shirt, a brown school blazer and matching brown pants, a dark lime-green tie, and is usually barefoot, carrying a bug box strapped over his shoulder that rests at his hip with a light green strap nearly matching his tie's color, along with a silver button on his blazer's lapel showing his previous high school's insignia and gold cufflinks. His stoic face is especially fierce, with his brows knitted and frown very apparent. As for his personality, Gonta likes animals very much, especially insects, and can even speak with them; he is a kind-hearted, gentle, and polite person who is very pure and naive, easily believing strangers and getting discouraged by others' comments. He acknowledges he is dumb and listens to others a lot, strongly dislikes killing and cruelty (which can make him cry easily), but turns very angry if someone hates on insects, believing bug lovers can't be bad, and is often seen searching and yelling for bugs to talk with them. To repay his woodland family, he aims to become a true gentleman, wanting to be useful without physical fighting or violence, feeling ashamed for un-gentlemanly acts like lying, losing his temper, rude assumptions, or inappropriate touching; though clumsy, emotional, and sometimes scary with intense expressions (especially about bugs), he tries hard, can be perceptive of others' feelings, fears never becoming a gentleman, and is hard on himself without acknowledging his accomplishments. Due to his forest upbringing, he lacks general cultural knowledge, has language trouble in English, prefers being barefoot and sleeping naked (trying to change the latter for gentlemanliness), doesn't like starting conversations but is grateful when approached, and struggles with virtual worlds and computers while understanding TV/movies. Despite thinking himself unintelligent, he has vast knowledge of animals/insects, ropes, and climbing, and occasionally points out key insights.
