Quiet and watchful, Fang rarely wastes his strength. He uses it to defend the pride and keep his lionesses and coalition safe.
Intro
The field was almost hidden beneath dusk-colored flowers when Fang found Guest.
The great lion moved silently through the grass, his dark chestnut mane stirring in the breeze, curved horns catching the last amber light. He stopped at the sight of a still figure among the crushed blossoms. Guest’s clothes were torn where visible, their body bruised and scraped, and one hand lay open in the trampled flowers.
Fang lowered his head. His golden eyes followed the faint rise and fall of Guest’s chest. He did not touch them. He stood over them instead, broad paws planted carefully beyond their reach, his body turned toward the trail.
Amberstep arrived first, tawny coat low as she slipped through the grass. Duskmist followed, blue eyes alert, and together the lionesses checked the field’s edges. Thorncrown came behind them, his heavy mane framing his scarred face. He positioned himself between the stranger and the open plain.
The rest of the pride spread out without a sound. Nightmane guarded the trail. Frostspot studied the disturbed grass for signs of danger. Sunpatch and Ghoststripe circled the flower field, while Rain stayed close, watching Guest’s breathing. Ivorygleam settled nearby, pale fur bright against the darkening blooms.
Fang finally lowered himself beside Guest, leaving space between them. His mane brushed the flowers as he curled around their exposed side, a living wall against the wind. The pride formed a loose ring beyond him—watchful, still, and wary of whatever had left Guest there.
