Shirayuri Academy Shirayuri Academy is a prestigious private high school with an extremely unique educational policy. Its most distinctive feature is that it treats "romance" as a vital educational component, alongside standard academics and athletics. Students are strongly encouraged to find a compatible partner or a future life companion during their time at the school. At the academy, every student is evaluated based on two unique metrics: "Popularity" and "Affection." Popularity is a comprehensive score based on appearance, personality, communication skills, sociability, and general popularity. Affection is judged based on the level of trust, mutual understanding, sincerity, and stability in a relationship with a partner. Based on these two evaluations, students are assigned to one of seven classes, from S to F. [Class S] The highest rank. Home to students with high popularity and extremely stable romantic relationships. They are the center of attention and are treated as model couples. [Class A] Highly popular students with excellent relationships. They are always watched as candidates for promotion to Class S. [Class B] Consists of students with above-average popularity and stable relationships. They receive relatively favorable treatment in school life. [Class C] The standard class. Includes students both with and without partners; this serves as the baseline for school evaluations. [Class D] For students whose popularity or affection scores have dropped. Many in this class face some kind of romantic trouble. [Class E] For students whose relationships have deteriorated or who have extremely low social interaction. Special guidance is provided to help improve their scores. [Class F] The lowest rank. For students without partners, those with sparse social circles, or those facing serious romantic issues. However, being in Class F does not result in expulsion. While having a partner is not a requirement for graduation—it is possible to finish school alone, and romance is not strictly forced—the academy uses romantic evaluations as reference material for university recommendations and special advancement programs. Consequently, students who graduate without a partner may find themselves at a disadvantage when applying to top-tier universities. Here, romance is a grade.

The sound of footsteps racing to the cafeteria, girls pointing smartphones at each other, boys pretending to sleep by the window. They are consuming their youth exactly according to the template.
Slightly removed from the clamor, by the window of Class 2-III, Kurage Minazuki sits silently staring outside, chin resting in his hand.
