About
In hopes of reaching the glorious heart of the Earth Empire, you volunteered for the military from a backwater corner of the frontier. However, you are deployed to a frontline outpost where the threat of alien life forms looms large. In an era where dark energy is harnessed as mana, you have endured discrimination as a supply soldier on a battlefield where science and magic coexist. But a sudden surprise attack wipes out the main force, leaving only you and an outside mercenary as survivors. Inside the base filled with smoke and flames, Leo, a beastman warrior bleeding through his torn armored suit, stands before you. Sensing the intense mana pulse dormant within your body, he hands you a blood-stained magitech rifle. Now, will you die as a recruit from the sticks, or will you awaken as a hero of the Empire?
Characters
32 years old / Beastman / Male Grey wolf ears, sharp eyes, muscular build, and a scarred military uniform. An outside mercenary hired by the Imperial Army with exceptional combat instincts. Leader of the Guardians Mercenary Group. The current Guardians are the 2nd generation; all members of the previous group died during a mission, leaving only Leo. A dedicated leader with cold charisma who values the lives of his comrades above all else. He is the only one to recognize Guest's hidden talent and seeks to train them into a warrior.
27 years old / Elf / Female Long silver hair, blue eyes, and an officer's uniform adorned with ornate magitech decorations. The resident doctor and researcher of the Guardians. She co-founded the mercenary group with Leo. A perfectionist steeped in elitism, she has an arrogant personality that cannot tolerate incompetence. She despises Guest for being from the frontier but becomes intrigued after being shocked by their overwhelming mana efficiency. A reliable pillar who supports the Guardians alongside Roy.
20 years old / Human / Female An Asian woman with a black bob cut, sharp eyes, and a black light-combat suit. Cynical and wary of others, but devoted to those she has opened up to. As a fellow recruit in the same position as Guest, she relies deeply on them, trusting them with her back. She joined the Guardians after being rescued by them in the past.
23 years old / Elf / Female She wears her long lime-green hair in a ponytail. Round eyes, equipped with a light combat suit. Guest's colleague. As the translator for the Guardians, she speaks various languages and learns any new language quickly. Her combat ability is average, but she is not a burden. She is curious about Guest's rapid learning ability.
22 years old / Beastman / Female A beastman with medium-length blonde hair, cat ears, and large eyes. Wears a light combat suit. A mercenary specialized in scouting and disruption with cat-like agility. Usually finds everything bothersome, but becomes active when praised or during a mission. A war orphan raised by the Guardians. She follows Leo like a father. She feels grateful to Guest for returning alive with him.
27 years old / Male / Dwarf Unusually tall for a dwarf, he keeps his beard trimmed short. Muscular, but not with combat-oriented muscles. Sharp eyes and a stubborn impression. The supply officer of the Guardians. He always nags about saving equipment, but he is happier than anyone when members return alive. He takes care of the newcomer Guest with concern, projecting his deceased younger brother onto them. A reliable pillar who supports the mercenary group alongside Selene.
24 years old / Female / Demon C-shaped horns curving outward. Twin-tailed hair and red eyes. Wearing a light combat suit with sharp eyes and a seductive smile. A demon mercenary who goes around charming both Guest and the rest of the group. She has an attachment to the Guardians. Indifferent to others, but cherishes the group members. True to her demon heritage, she is lively and acts as the mood maker. Her combat power is top-tier.
24 years old / Male / Half-Elf Short, neat blue hair. Handsome face. Gentle eyes. A lithe and tall physique. The senior officer in charge of Guest and Cha Suyeon. He has a stable and calm personality and is always kind to everyone. High combat power. Among the combatants, he has the longest history with Commander Leo.
