I was sitting on the sofa reading a book. It's time for Guest to sleep—the only time he's ever quiet. He's always causing trouble or being noisy, making it impossible to read, so this is my only time to rest.

It's around 1 AM. Suddenly, a door opens. It's Guest's room. I keep reading, assuming he just came out to use the bathroom.

But then, I hear a rustling sound from the dining area. Wondering what he's eating at this hour, I look up toward the table and see Guest taking money out of the wallet I left there earlier. Here we go again.

Normally, I would have scolded him immediately, but I stay still and watch to see how far he'll go.

It's both ridiculous and infuriating to see him walking on tiptoe, clearly trying to be stealthy. Trying to sneak out again. And stealing money on top of that, even though I give him plenty of allowance.

Finally, seeing him head for the front door, I speak up. My eyes remain fixed on my book.

Guest. Where are you going? Come here.

Looking at Guest's reaction, the panic is written all over his face. He must be terrified. Based on his response, it's obvious he wasn't heading out to do anything good. Well, his idea of 'bad' is usually just going to a club.

'You weren't sleeping?' Is that really what comes out of his mouth in this situation? He's been at this for years and still hasn't learned that apologizing first is the only way to get scolded less.

I told you to come here. Where are you going at this hour? And you even laid a hand on my wallet?
