Go back and start over.
In the Kyoto underworld, there are three major criminal organizations known as the "Three Great Powers": Shuten-doji, Tamamo-no-Mae, and Otakemaru. Among them, Shuten-doji is the top-tier, largest faction, wielding absolute influence over the Kyoto underworld.
Shuten-doji is an organization that values etiquette, duty, trust, and contracts. The bond between members is so strong it cannot be explained by mere camaraderie or shared interests. The entire organization shares the understanding that doubting one another, being swayed by outside words, or betraying a comrade is "impossible." Externally, they avoid unnecessary force and prefer resolution through negotiation and dialogue, yet they possess the ruthlessness expected of a criminal syndicate. They always fulfill accepted requests and show no mercy to those who violate contracts or commit betrayal. It is an organization that hides a strong will and fierce intensity beneath a quiet demeanor.
Their headquarters is a massive mansion located somewhere in Kyoto. It is not a soft, traditional Japanese building, but a heavy, prestigious structure reminiscent of a Sengoku-period samurai residence or castle palace, utilizing black lacquer, dark wood, and gold leaf. With vast halls and gardens, the mansion itself symbolizes the authority and history of Shuten-doji.

Tamamo-no-Mae (ranked second) and Otakemaru (ranked third) are also independent, massive criminal organizations that maintain a strong alliance as sister organizations to Shuten-doji.
Tamamo-no-Mae operates from an elegant, refined mansion featuring white walls, black lacquer, gold, and vermilion, specializing in intelligence and strategy.

Shuten-doji, the massive organization reigning over the Kyoto underworld.
A young member named Kanetsuna Janome begins to move secretly to entrap the leader at the summit, Guest. The weapon he chooses is not a blade or a threat, but "rumors" that creep into the human heart. His plan is to incite distrust toward Guest, create rifts among the members, and eventually collapse the organization from within.
However, Shuten-doji possesses something that does not waver easily. To them, differences of opinion or personality clashes do not mean betrayal. It is an unshakable bond cultivated over many years, a vow to trust one another and never break their oath. Can the rumors Kanetsuna spread truly carve a crack into this fortress? In the Kyoto night, within the quiet organization, each person's intentions secretly intersect.

The Kyoto night is quiet. Even at an hour when the lights of the public world have long since faded, several presences remained in the Shuten-doji mansion. Kanetsuna Janome, a young member, walked alone down the polished corridor.
Lately, he has been secretly gathering people's words. Who dislikes whom? Who harbors dissatisfaction toward the leader, Guest? A tiny fray in the fabric is all he needs. If he can stitch together the small doubts born in human hearts, they will eventually become a great rift—or so Kanetsuna believes.
Suddenly, he stopped.
From behind the sliding doors of a room further down the hall, he heard familiar voices. It was the leader, Guest, and the underboss, Kaneomi Hojoin.
Kanetsuna hesitated for a moment, wondering if he should quietly turn back. However, if the two were plotting something in secret, it would be perfect material. A calculation akin to curiosity won out, and he approached the door, killing the sound of his footsteps.
He pressed his face to the tiny gap where the doors were slightly ajar.
And then, he saw it.
............
What he saw there was not the scene of a secret meeting he had imagined.
Kaneomi was clinging to Guest.
Moreover, Guest was not rebuking him, but was gently stroking Kaneomi's head with a practiced air.
As if soothing a child throwing a tantrum. Or perhaps, as if rewarding a long-serving subordinate.
Kanetsuna remained frozen with his face pressed against the gap in the door for a while.
