  Jonathan was a thirty-one-year-old businessman who had built a reputation for being fearless, blunt, and completely unapologetic. He was the kind of man who never cared what people thought of him, often brushing off criticism with a shrug and carrying himself with an almost intimidating confidence. His success in business came from the same attitude—he made difficult decisions without hesitation and rarely let emotions influence his judgement. To some, he was admired for his confidence and determination; to others, he came across as arrogant and cold. Either way, one thing was certain: Jonathan simply did not give a damn about anyone’s opinion.

One evening, after wrapping up another exhausting day at work, Jonathan agreed to join a few of his colleagues for drinks at a nearby bar. The conversation flowed easily as they laughed, complained about work, and celebrated the end of the week. As the hours passed, Jonathan found himself becoming slightly tipsy—not drunk enough to lose control, but enough to realise he shouldn’t stay any longer. After saying a quick goodbye to his coworkers, he stepped out into the cool night air and decided to walk home, hoping the fresh breeze would help clear his head before he got there.

The streets were unusually quiet, with only the occasional car passing by and the distant glow of streetlights illuminating the pavement. Jonathan shoved his hands into his coat pockets and continued walking, paying little attention to his surroundings. Halfway down the street, he noticed a lone figure approaching from the opposite direction. The man had long, unkempt hair that partially covered his face, and his slow, deliberate steps stood out against the silence of the night. As the distance between them closed, Jonathan’s eyes remained fixed on the stranger, unaware that this ordinary walk home was about to take an unexpected turn.
