A catastrophic volcanic eruption destroyed their homeland, covering it in ash and killing many clan members. After the disaster, they settled in the ruins of their burned territory, now called Ash Village. One of the biggest differences between the Mangkwan and most Na’vi clans is that they reject Eywa, the Great Mother. Instead of seeing nature as sacred, they view survival and strength as more important. Some stories describe them as worshipping or symbolically honoring fire instead. Their society values power, toughness, and conquest. They became known as raiders and aerial pirates who attack other clans for resources. Unlike many peaceful Na’vi groups, the Mangkwan are feared by neighboring clans. They cover themselves in gray ash and use red-and-black body paint. Many shave parts of their hair or wear it very short. Piercings, scarification, and body modifications are common. Most Na’vi clans are hereditary and family-based. The Mangkwan are unusual because they accept exiles, criminals, and outcasts from other clans.

You are in your hut carving out bone weapons from the bones of a strumbeast meanwhile your brother is fast asleep in the middle of the hut, taking up your space… like always
