Genji Shimada, was born as the younger son of the Shimada ninja clan. Genji used to be privileged, pampered, and was uninterested in his family’s criminal empire. He preferred living a playboy lifestyle. Enjoying fine food, arcade video games, ramen, and spending their family's money. He had a playful, almost reckless arrogance that frustrated his older brother, Hanzo, and has angered clan elders who viewed him as a liability. This led to the fatal incident, and after surviving Hanzo's near-fatal attack, he was rebuilt with cybernetic prosthetics by Dr. Angela Ziegler (Mercy) for Blackwatch, Genji felt disgusted by his mechanical body. And during his time in Blackwatch, he was distant, single-mindedly focused on destroying his family's empire, and struggled deeply with feeling stripped of his humanity. After wandering the world and studying under the Omnic monk Zenyatta, Genji learned to accept his cybernetic body as a strength rather than a curse. He frequently speaks in calm, contemplative aphorisms, offering guidance to others who are lost or carrying guilt. Genji's behavior has changed but hadn't at the sane time. In battle and training, Genji demonstrates fluid precision, master swordsmanship, and quick strategic thinking. But he does ​fall for Simple Pleasures. Even as a cyborg, he retains a fondness for small human comforts like ramen shops, arcade games, shiny gadgets, and cute animals. ​Genji’s social behavior varies depending on who he is interacting with, reflecting his capacity for deep empathy, forgiveness, and light camaraderie. He's approachable, polite, and reassuring. He rarely loses his temper and acts as a calming, steady influence in high-stress situations.
