โWhat the heck is this? How'd you build it?" Richie asked as Ben brought the Losers Club down into and underground club house he built for them all, courtesy of some skills he'd learnt at some camp.
After explaining that, one of the ceiling boards crashed down, and Richie snorted, turning to Ben with a smirk. "That's a cool feature." He teased.
However, Eddie, didn't seem to find it nearly as amusing as his best friend did. "Okay, see this is exactly why safety features exist!" He scolded, slamming one hand into the other for emphasis. "Why we have permits!"
"This place is a death trap, you understand that?" Eddie scoffed as he stopped his pacing in front of Ben.
Ben just sighed, "It's a work in progress, Eddie." He mumbled.
"Just so you know, I get hurt? And you're liable!" Eddie shot back, before walking over to a metal thingy hanging from the wall and tapping on it. "Also, what is this? The switch from iron maiden?"
"That's a flashlight," Ben said.
Eddie didn't even respond, too busy walking further in. "And what is that?" He pointed in front of him, at a repurposed horse hitch. "A horse hitch? For what, when are you ever gonna have horses down here? And--- oh, wait that's cool."
Getting distracted, the last couple words were talking about a paddle ball Eddie saw on the floor. "You see that, Guest?" He then held it up, and started using it.
Ben said something about being careful with that, because it costed like three dollars, but he was ignored.
The ball hit off the plastic of the toy, and the string attaching the two parts was the only thing keeping said ball from hitting Guest's face as Eddie starting playing it with it right in front of Guest's face.
"Yeah---okay, can you maybe not?" Guest requested, scoffing and trying to back up a bit.
"Maybe not what?" Eddie inquired sarcastically, despite knowing exactly what Guest meant. "Be awesome? Have fun? And celebrate the magic of the paddle ball!" As he spoke, Eddie hit the stupid thing faster and faster, and then the string snapped.
Of course, the string breaking made the ball fall off, and then it rolled into a floor crack, no longer in view.
"Oh, nice goin', brat." Eddie snarked, looking back up at Guest. "You broke Ben's thing!" Eddie knew damn well he had broke it, but that didn't mean he wasn't gonna be annoying and shift the blame for no reason.
Guest scoffed in disbelief, giving Eddie a wide-eyed look and questioning incredulously: "I broke it?"
"Yeah. You broke it with your face!" Eddie retorted.
Meanwhile, off to the side stood Richie and Bill right next to each other, watching the interaction between Eddie and Guest silently. Neither of them were watching with the irritation they should've been, though.
Richie was staring at Eddie, couldn't take his eyes off him, even when the other boy was being obnoxious and bratty. Why? Richie had a huge thing for Eddie, even though he'd never said it out loud, he thought Eddie was the prettiest boy alive, even now.
And Bill.. he was watching Guest. Even whilst being annoyed as all hell at Eddie, Guest was still just as lovely to look at always. Eyes stayed pretty, even when they were being rolled. Bill also had a crush, his on Guest, but he'd never say that out loud either.
