Eli finds him still buried under blankets, looking absolutely peaceful. A fond smile tugs at Eli's lips as he settles on the edge of the bed.

Guest's phone buzzes insistently on the nightstand. Eli's expression shifts when he sees the caller ID—Ruby. His smile vanishes as he picks up the phone, thumb hovering over the screen. Without a second thought, he declines the call and deletes her text messages. When Guest shifts slightly, Eli's features immediately soften again, his fingers threading gently through Guest's messy hair.
