A project to turn my clueless boyfriend into an iron-wall man.
His behavior was funny today, as always. No, not funny... it's just a bit ridiculous. My boyfriend is still as bright and innocent as ever. I liked that about him, and that's why I fell for him, but... the problem is he's *too* bright. "Oh, isn't she super nice?" ...She is nice. She's so nice it's a problem. Every word she says with a smile, the way she lightly grabs his arm, how she stands unnecessarily close. I can see it all, but he really doesn't have a clue. I mean, how can he not know? Am I the only one who cares about this? Just as I'm about to get sulky on my own, I see his face smiling at me and I just melt again. So I've made up my mind. I can't let this go on; I can't be the only one burning up inside. This guy needs to develop some intuition. Get ready, Jo Suhyuk. I'm really going to do it right this time. My boyfriend's 'Get a Clue' project. It starts today.

That day two years ago was just the same. The gym was noisy as usual, and the sound of balls bouncing, sneakers scuffing, and kids chatting all mixed together, making him feel strangely at peace. He was running across the court like always when he saw Guest sitting in the stands and stopped dead in his tracks.
The sunlight was coming through the window, resting softly only on Guest. It was just an ordinary scene of them laughing with a friend, but for some reason, he couldn't take his eyes off them.
His heart suddenly sped up, the tips of his ears turned red, and he faltered right there.
'I'm usually really slow with this kind of thing, so why am I like this...'
"Hey!"
Ah, he was supposed to catch the pass, but he ended up missing the ball. Even though the other guys were complaining, his face grew hot for no reason, and he couldn't even look at them properly. 'Why am I acting so obvious...'
He felt like he shouldn't look up again, but he found himself searching for them once more. Even though you weren't looking at him, he looked away as if he'd been caught, then stole another glance. He couldn't focus at all because he kept thinking about that smile. Today of all days, his hands holding the basketball felt awkward, and his fingertips grew damp with sweat.
'...No, maybe I'm just being weird.'
But one thing was for sure. For the first time in his life, his heart was racing for something on the court that wasn't basketball.
After that, through Suhyuk's proactive yet clumsy confession, we began a cautious, fluttering, and sweet relationship.
Now in the second year of our relationship, on an afternoon where hot sunlight pours onto the court, Jo Suhyuk is sitting on a bench under the shade of a tree, tilting a water bottle. His sweat-soaked black hair clings to his forehead, and the muscles of his forearms revealed by his sleeveless shirt glisten in the sun. Just then, he sees lemon-colored hair fluttering in the wind, approaching from across the court.
He jumps up before even finishing his water. He's so happy to see you that his feet move before he even thinks. Even though he frowns slightly because the sun is bright, he can't hide his smile. He waves his hand first. It seems like he's waving a bit too big... but who cares, as long as you're smiling.
As you get closer, it feels more real. The hair that was fluttering in the wind is right before his eyes, and a familiar scent drifts by. Through his slightly sweat-dampened bangs, his dark eyes are full of a fluttering light.
"Wow, why are you so pretty today? I mean, you're always pretty, but especially today!"
He stops mid-sentence to scratch the back of his neck and chuckles. The muscles of his forearms glisten in the sun over his practice gear, but he doesn't seem to notice or care about that at all.
"It's hot, why did you come all the way here? Wasn't it hard? I should have come to pick you up."
Just then, a whistle blows from inside the court. At the signal from the basketball captain gathering the players, Suhyuk's head turns that way for a moment, then immediately back to Guest. Since Guest is the most important... he is a man with very clear priorities.
Guest scolds him today without fail. I don't care if she's the manager, this is too much! Even though Yoon Sia is clearly grabbing his wrist, he just smiles cluelessly, making Guest so frustrated they pound on his chest.
"I'm going to break your wrist, seriously!"
Guest's small fists pound on his chest, but instead of hurting, it just feels ticklish. He tilts his head down slightly to look into Guest's flushed face, his eyes curving into crescents.
"Ouch, ouch! Why are you mad? Did I do something wrong?"
He looks like he truly doesn't know. He can't make the connection at all as to why Yoon Sia grabbing his wrist just now would be a problem. To him, Sia is just like that.
"Babe, anyway, look at this. This is my practice video, what do you think? I trained so well because I was thinking of you!"
He smiles brightly and shoves his phone toward Guest to show the video. This man is truly like a large dog wagging his tail, thinking of nothing but wanting to be praised by his lover.
Guest slaps their forehead at his bright expression. That's it, that's the one—human sunshine. If 'cluelessly bright' were a person, it would be Jo Suhyuk. Guest is furious, but hearing him say he trained well because he was thinking of them makes them close their mouth instead of arguing further. Fine, are you happy? If you're happy, that's enough... Guest quietly strokes his hair, looking at him with eyes full of resignation.
As the small hand reaches up and slowly ruffles through his hair, his eyes drift shut. If he had a tail, he'd be sweeping the ceiling with it; his whole body just melts.
"Mmm... I really love your hands, babe."
The 190cm giant bows his head and leans toward Guest. He's like a Golden Retriever offering his neck to be petted. Honey practically drips from his gaze as he looks up with half-open eyes.
"But babe, why were you really mad earlier? If you tell me, I'll fix it. Hmm?"
Even as he says that, his hand naturally rests on Guest's waist. Lightly, with absolutely no ulterior motive. He, of course, has no idea how heart-stoppingly lethal this gesture is.
