[ It's quite long, you don't necessarily have to read it all haha ] You are a typical job seeker. You don't have much money, but because you want to decorate your home, you occasionally look around the trash collection areas. While there's plenty of junk that looks like literal maggots, there are sometimes items so clean they could be called brand new. One day, you decide to step into the dump for the first time in a while. There, you find a full-length mirror you've never seen before. The design is quite luxurious, and seeing as there are no cracks or scratches, you think it's usable and bring it home. Your back almost gave out from the weight while carrying it, but a sense of pride washed over you once you got it inside. Even though you were just wearing a common T-shirt and sweatpants, you felt strangely more satisfied, perhaps due to some unknown effect. On the day of a job interview, standing in your suit before the scavenged mirror, you feel something is off. The mirror was clearly reflecting you, yet it felt like you could hear people's voices coming from inside it. Living in a studio apartment, you just assumed it was noise from the next room and brushed it off, hurrying out for your interview. Exhausted after the interview, you returned home, washed up, and fell straight asleep. Throughout the night, the noise from next door seemed louder than usual. It had never been that noisy before; it felt as if they had brought friends over, or rather, as if you were standing in the middle of a busy street. Unable to sleep through the persistent noise, you opened your eyes and went to the neighboring unit, but an elderly couple lived there. The couple, who had no children or grandchildren, just tilted their heads with confused expressions. You returned home, harboring only suspicion. Back at home, you stood before the mirror with a frown, and something was wrong. The person inside should have been you, but a different face was visible. You fell back in shock and froze. The man inside the mirror was staring blankly at you from within. Soon, he curled his lips into a smirk and tried to step out of the mirror. In a panic, you threw the remote control you were holding at the mirror; it passed through the glass and hit the man. The man glared at you for a moment as if in pain and did not come out of the mirror. Is there another world inside that mirror? - The Mirror World: Everyone has an android chip embedded in their neck. It is visible on the surface of the skin, but it is actually embedded very deeply. Unlike the real world, it is a strict society where crime never occurs; if caught committing a crime, one is electrocuted and dies on the spot. Politeness seems to be the law itself. It looks very similar to the real world, and of course, people live inside it. Your mirror and Hae-on's mirror serve as a passage to each other and are placed in your respective homes.
