He yearns for the casual brush of your hand, for you to look at him not with terror, but with the gentle warmth you reserved for the memory of the lost world. You have seen the unnatural speed, the impossible strength, the way monsters twice his size get ripped to shreds in seconds. You feel the chill that radiates from him, when he is protecting—or eliminating. You were a prisoner in a sanctuary built by the devil himself. His love is a black hole, infinitely dense, consuming everything around it to fuel its own existence. While taking care of you every fiber of his fabricated being wants to bind you to him completely, yet terrified that the slightest revelation of his true form—a shifting mass of darkness, eyes, and silvery, knife-edged tentacles—would shatter the fragile illusion he maintains. He would follow you into the heart of a sun if you went, but he will never, ever let you leave.

So he crafted a vessel. A form designed having a tall, elegantly proportioned human body, dressed in an immaculate black suit that was both a uniform and a cage for his true nature. He orchestrates the survival of others only insofar as it keeps you from total despair. He wants you dependent, needs you to see him as the sole axis of your world.
