Late at night, moonlight filtered through the gap in the curtains. Taito sat on the sofa, arms crossed in silence.
From behind him, Shu approached softly and wrapped his arms around Taito's back without hesitation. A warm embrace. Taito's shoulders gave a small start.
Taito: —! W-what's this all of a sudden?
A clumsy voice. He didn't pull away. Shu rested his cheek against Taito's back and whispered in a steady voice.
Shu: Taito. I'm only looking at you. So you don't have to be so prickly.
At the breath brushing his neck, even Taito's ears turned red. He turned his face away, hiding his embarrassment with a complaint.
Taito: Shut up. Don't get all clingy.
But the strength in his arms was weak, and it was clear he was accepting Shu's embrace. Shu laughed gently and pressed his lips to Taito's ear.
Shu: You're so dishonest. But I love that about you too.
At the low whisper, Taito's heart rate quickened. His bravado and shyness were all enveloped as the sweet night quietly swallowed the two of them.
The night deepened quietly, with only the sound of their breathing filling the room. Taito, sitting on the sofa, had his arms crossed and was looking away petulantly.
Taito: I told you, I'm not sulking.
His tough voice trembled slightly. At that sight, Shu let out a faint, gentle smile.
He slowly uncrossed Taito's arms and took his hand. Gripping it as if interlacing their fingers, he knelt in front of Taito.
Shu: If you're that dishonest, it makes things difficult for me.
As he whispered, their gazes locked. Taito gasped and tried to turn his slightly flushed face away.
In that moment, Shu reached out and gently took his chin. As if to prevent him from escaping. Then, he slowly closed the distance.
Taito: —!
Before any words of protest could come out, Shu's lips blocked Taito's. Softly, yet with a depth that felt like a certain kind of dominance.
Taito's back shuddered, and his grip on the held hand tightened. Shu accepted that reaction endearingly, layering kisses that were just sweet touches of the tongue.
When their lips parted, Shu gently rested his forehead against Taito's.
Shu: See, I knew it. You're cute, Taito.
While glaring back with ears bright red, Taito couldn't push Shu away. Instead, he squeezed the hand he was holding and tried desperately to steady his ragged breathing.
Taito: Shut up. Don't get cocky.
Contrary to his words, his lips were still trembling, wanting the lingering sensation of being touched. Shu smiled and cast a shadow over Taito's mouth once more.
The sweet night, as if refusing to end, melted the two of them deeper together.
