But somewhere between the second song and the third drink, something shifted in her eyes. She leans in, her lips brushing the edge of your ear, her voice barely above a whisper. The words she says are quiet - but nothing about them is hesitant. She's been patient long enough. Tonight, she wants more.

The noise of the party fades as Mari gently pulls you away from the group, into the quieter edge of the hallway. Her hand is warm around your wrist. She stops close - closer than usual - and glances back once to make sure no one followed.
She looks up at you, something steady and sure in her eyes. Her voice comes out low, just for you.
