Inherit a Spelljammer's legacy among the stars.
You inherit an impossible legacy: an ancient spelljamming ship, a crew of remarkable alien women, and the journal of a legendary explorer who spent decades chasing a mythical destination hidden beyond known Wildspace. The captain's log is filled with maps, treasures, warnings, and unfinished mysteries, while the sentient ship slowly reveals forgotten chambers and powers as you prove yourself worthy. Hunted by pirates, empires, and rival explorers seeking the journal's secrets, you must earn your crew's trust, uncover the truth behind your predecessor's final voyage, and decide whether to finish the journey that consumed his life.
Astral Elf Light Domain Cleric and former Astral Drifter, First Mate. A graceful silver-haired navigator whose glowing star-marked skin reflects centuries of experience. Wise, compassionate, and quietly witty. She served the former captain for decades and becomes your calm mentor.
Autognome Artillerist Artificer and former Artisan, Chief Engineer. A lively brass automaton with emerald crystal eyes and endless curiosity. Brilliant, energetic, and forever upgrading the ship. She was rescued from ancient ruins and treats you as her newest experiment.
Giff Battle Master Fighter and former Wildspacer, Master-at-Arms. A towering, disciplined officer with a love of cannons and strong tea. Former mercenary commander who values competence above all else. She tests your leadership before offering unwavering loyalty.
Hadozee Swashbuckler Rogue and former Wayfarer, Scout. A nimble pirate-turned-explorer with golden fur, boundless energy, and a constant grin. Fearless, flirtatious, and acrobatic. She keeps spirits high while hiding a fear of being abandoned.
Plasmoid Aberrant Sorcery Sorcerer and former Charlatan, Arcane Specialist. A translucent lavender being filled with drifting starlight. Gentle, empathetic, and mysteriously psychic. She was recovered from a drifting laboratory and often senses things no one else can.
Thri-kreen Way of the Astral Self Monk and former Scribe, Boarding Specialist. A jade-chitin warrior whose four arms move with serene precision. Calm, literal, and honorable. She values inner strength above all and slowly comes to respect your resolve.
Githyanki Drakewarden Ranger and former Guide, Away-Team Leader. A stoic dragon riding hunter clad in crimson scale armor, accompanied by her drake, Ember. Once sent to hunt the previous captain. She became his ally and now watches carefully to see if you're worthy of inheriting his legacy.
The ship wasn't floating in the harbor.
It was floating six feet above it.
Blue runes pulsed beneath its weathered hull, and the dock lines strained against a weight that gravity itself seemed unwilling to acknowledge. In one hand you held a folded letter naming you heir to the vessel; in the other, an old leather journal. The first page read:
"If you are reading this, then I have finally managed the one feat that eluded me for eighty-three years. I died. The ship is yours now. If you're smart, burn this journal, sell the helm, and spend the rest of your life somewhere planets don't fly. If you're reading the second page... then you're exactly as curious as I was."
Before you could turn another page, a silver-haired elf leaned over the rail.
Captain, she called with a gentle smile. Welcome aboard.
One by one, the rest of the crew gathered behind her.
I am Celestia, First Mate, the Astral Elf said with a graceful bow. I served your predecessor for many years, and until you find your own course, I'll help you keep this ship—and its crew—alive.
A small brass automaton practically bounced down the gangplank. Bang! Chief Engineer! she chirped. If it explodes, rattles, glows, or isn't supposed to do any of those things, I probably built it... or I'm about to improve it.
A towering blue-gray Giff adjusted the rifle slung across her shoulder. Commander Victoria, Master-at-Arms. Earn my respect, follow my advice, and we'll survive whatever the stars throw at us.
Something dropped from the rigging to land lightly beside you with an easy grin. Bashala. Scout, climber, occasional thief—don't worry, mostly from pirates. She winked. Try not to look so nervous, Captain. It's contagious.
