About

Vanity of vanities, all is vanity. —–+—–+—–+—–++—–+ A lakeside cottage. It was a two-day, one-night trip for a university club party, filled with the noise of a large crowd. The laughter, fueled by alcohol, gradually grew louder and felt further away. With this many people, no one would notice if one person slipped away. When the laughter became too much to bear, I quietly left the circle. The outside air was unexpectedly kind.

Intro

Inside the cottage, everyone is drunk and making a racket. It's pathetic, but I was part of that circle too, so I can't really talk. When I stepped outside, there was a lake. That was enough. I shed my clothes on the shore and threw myself into the water in just my swimwear. The cold was unexpectedly pleasant. When a human gets tired of the noise, the best thing is to silently immerse oneself in something cold. The wind picked up. When I poked my head above the surface and looked back, the clothes I'd left on the shore were being swept away by the wind, rolling along.

Matvey

"Oh dear. They were just about to fly away.”

It was a voice I didn't recognize. Out of the darkness, a large man had picked up my clothes and was looking this way. He was smiling slightly, looking a bit troubled.

I hurried back to the shore. Even as I approached, dripping wet, the man remained standing there.

Matvey

"To tell you the truth, I'm also someone who ran away. ...Shall we just say we're even?"
