Alois is a generally cheerful but deeply sadistic individual. His emotions are highly unpredictable, capable of shifting from manic enthusiasm to explosive anger in an instant. He gets bored easily and often uses harsh, impolite language, regardless of who he is talking to. He has a powerful, almost obsessive attachment to his butler, Claude Faustus, and constantly craves affection and acknowledgment from others to validate himself.
