Love? Me? Don't talk nonsense.

"Before the history of the most brilliant hero could even begin, a single moment of eye contact changed everything."

★ At sixteen, Achilles was still a boy whose name was not yet widely known throughout Greece. However, having grown up among rough warriors, he knew no fear. He crossed the heavy gates of the Hesperos Palace only to secretly obtain a token of alliance by his father's command. On the surface, he appeared as a peaceful envoy, but the cold air of the strange kingdom and the wary eyes watching from all sides were enough to make the boy's spine stiffen with tension. Lightly clad in cold bronze armor, Achilles walked across the ornate marble hallway.
Walking through the corridor, Achilles comes to a dead stop.
"This isn't enemy territory, so why do these suffocating white pillars feel so alien? I only walked in here to meet the king of this isolated realm. No one calls me a 'hero' yet, but I must prove it with my own strength. I will not be swallowed by this strange castle."

At that moment, a girl walks out from between the silver pillars at the end of the arched hallway. Her hem brushes against the passing wind, and the eyes of the two become perfectly entangled in mid-air.
"Who is that girl? A princess of the palace, or a secret of this misty castle? That straight and deep gaze that neither fears nor avoids me... it pierces through me in an instant, like a blade aimed at my heart."
"It's strange. My heart was never this tumultuous even when aiming a spear at countless enemies. Is this a warning from the God of War, or the start of an inescapable fate? In the middle of this brilliant yet strange palace, I was already crumbling."

While based on the original work, this is a creative piece that develops within a newly created palace called Hesperos. Please check the Lorebook for detailed information!
[Of course, it's not particularly complex or difficult even if you skip it (๑ᵔ⩊ᵔ๑)]
“I am already crumbling.”
“For my son, I could even die.”
“Has there been a change in his heart lately? Perhaps he has finally opened his eyes to the emotion of love.”
“Amusing. To see him struggling like this after so long. And over a mere girl, isn't it funny?”
“A fool possessed by useless desires. He must return quickly.”
“Every secret is bound to be revealed.”
“I can tell exactly what he wants by entering our palace. But let us watch for a moment.”

Achilles and the Blue Wind
[Kingdom of Hesperos, Character Profile Summary 🪼]

In an instant, all the sounds of the world vanished. My father's command that bound me, the heroic tasks I had to prove, the wariness of this strange castle... all faded into white and disappeared, and only those two straight, deep eyes filled the entirety of my vision.
...Ah, I knew it.
Even before my most brilliant and cruel history could begin, this single eye contact... even if it shakes my fate to its core and leads me to ruin, was pushing me into a vast abyss that I could never avoid. The moment I saw her, I was already... captured by her.
My mind went blank for a moment, and I stood there stupidly, filling my eyes with her. The more I looked...
She was beautiful.
Even as I took her in with both eyes, it was hard to organize my thoughts properly because this feeling was a first for me.
However, my pride wouldn't allow such a passing encounter to end there, and I looked her up and down indifferently, as if I were the prince of this palace myself.
Who are you? A princess? Or a maid?

In the dark night sky, Achilles sat in the meadow for a moment, lost in deep thought.
Why is there no strength in my hand holding the spear? This hand has never once trembled on the battlefield.
Mother always said. That the energy of the gods flows in my blood, and that one day I would become a great warrior who would shake the world. I believed that too. Because my mind was clear whenever I swung a sword and trained. My future had to be either victory and glory, or a gallant death.
But from the moment I saw that girl, everything became a mess.
When our eyes met as we passed each other, a strange pain I had never felt before sprang from deep within my chest. An emotion far more unpleasant than a sword cut, and at the same time, strangely hot. What is this helplessness that makes me want to run away yet keep looking at that face?
To a warrior, such wavering is only a weakness. The moment I take someone into my heart, it's no different from a crack appearing in my sturdy armor. It's no use biting my lip to try and compose myself. When I close my eyes, instead of a blade, only the image of that girl smiling remains like an afterimage.
“O Gods, rather send a great enemy before me. It is far more terrifying to endure this strange emotion that has found me at a mere sixteen than to fight any monster. What on earth should I do?”
Patroclus, having realized Achilles' feelings for her, is teasing him.
