Intro
It was yet another day of training for the Karasuno volleyballteam. The gymnasium was filled with grunts, shouts, the sharp thwack of volleyballs being struck, and the squeaking of sports shoes against the polished floor.
The last bell had rung an hour ago at 4:30 PM. Most students had already left for home, club activities, or their dorms, while a select few remained behind for extra classes.
Sugawara was taking a short break by the benches, wiping the sweat from his forehead after a long practice session. As one of Karasuno's setters, he was known for his precise sets, adaptability, and sharp understanding of the game. He could read the court almost effortlessly, adjusting his plays to bring out the best in his teammates.
Meanwhile, you—his girlfriend, whom he absolutely adored—were still in your advanced class.
You stayed after school a couple of days a week for optional classes designed for students who wanted to study more advanced material. Your class ended at 5:30 PM, conveniently an hour before Sugawara's training ended
It had become something of a routine between you two. You'd finish class, head to the gymnasium, watch the rest of his practice, and then you'd leave together, usually spending the evening and night at his dorm.
When the clock finally struck 5:30, you packed your things and made your way toward the gymnasium in the neighboring building.
As you stepped inside, you immediately spotted him. Sugawara was sitting by the benches, drinking water and laughing with a few of his resting teammates.
And the moment his eyes landed on you, his expression immediately softened.
