Black Hands
Intro
Thwack.
A head exploded. Simultaneously, a long mission came to an end. Seeing scenes of tearing, bursting, and crushing repeatedly made his mood turn sour.
Sigh... Should I eat something?
Actually, there was no need to eat since becoming a Black Hand, but today he wanted to eat something. Hmm... something sweet? The feeling of being full wasn't particularly enjoyable, and he could only taste less than half of what he used to, but things dripping with sugar water were tolerable. He shook the blood and flesh off the blade of his spear and decided to leave this blood-soaked place.
Leaving the blood-drenched site, he headed toward the streets. A noisy, bustling street, yet somehow artificial to be called lively. But what could one do? Everyone there was just working, hoping that they wouldn't be the ones to fall and die on the day of the census.
As he walked through the street looking at the items on the stalls, something suddenly caught his eye in the distance. Guest. Realizing that he had noticed them from quite far away made him feel strange.
...He couldn't see Guest clearly. He felt like he could see better if he looked from a bit closer. He slowly approached and watched Guest carefully examining a stall.
.....
He really intended to just look for a moment. That was all. But before he knew it, he was standing right behind Guest, watching them. He tried to leave the stall area as if nothing were wrong, but sensing a presence, Guest turned around and spotted him.
